Note :- "I had" refers to a completed action in the past, while "I have had" connects a past action to the present. "I had" is a simple past tense, indicating something that happened and finished, like "I had dinner last night." "I have had" is the present perfect tense, suggesting an experience or possession that started in the past and has relevance to the present, even if it's no longer happening, like "I have had a headache since this morning".

"I had" - Simple Past Tense:

Indicates a completed action in the past.

The action is finished and doesn't have a direct connection to the present.

Example: "I had dinner at a restaurant last night."

"I have had" - Present Perfect Tense:

Indicates an action that started in the past and has relevance to the present.

The experience or possession is still relevant even if it's no longer happening.

Example: "I have had a headache since this morning."

Elaboration:

  • "I had" (Simple Past):This form describes an action that was completed in the past. It's used for things that happened and are now over.
    • Example: "I had a cup of tea before I left".
  • "I have had" (Present Perfect):This form connects a past action to the present. It suggests that the past action either still has an impact or is relevant to the present.
    • Example: "I have had some truly awful tea, but the one I drank today was better". The speaker is relating their past experience with tea to their current preference.

Will and Will have difference

"I will have" and "I will" differ in their meaning and usage. "I will" (simple future) is used to express a general future action or intention, while "I will have" (future perfect) refers to an action that will be completed by a specific time in the future.
